The rooms are usually more ostentatious than normal hotel surroundings and allow guests to 'wear' a room
These days fashion designers put their name to everything from glasses to perfume.

Everyone from Diane von Furstenberg to Ralph Lauren have now made their mark on upmarket bedroom suites around the world.
In doing so, the traditional beige and white rooms have been given a new lease of life with vibrant colour and sumptuous fabrics.

The 36 oceanfront guestrooms and 27 private, luxury villas at Round Hill, Jamaica, have all been designed by the American fashion designer Ralph Lauren, who has his own villa there.
Round Hill is where Jacqueline and JFK honeymooned and Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote the Sound of Music, and Lauren perfectly sums up the sophisticated vibe with his decor.
The cool white and nautical striped surroundings are just the right level of relaxed ambience.

Following on from her success at Claridge's, Diane Von Furstenberg tried her hand at interior design again in 2012, when she designed a penthouse at the One & Only resort on Hayman Island, Australia.
The two-bedroom suite is designed with DVF signature fabrics that blend with the hotel's natural surroundings, which include the Great Barrier Reef and Hayman Beach.
Von Furstenburg asked to design a suite for the resort after spending a holiday on the island and falling in love with the surroundings.
She said at the time: 'It is such a special destination and I hope my design will enhance the beauty of the island and give the people staying in the DVF Penthouse a memorable moment.'
According to the Huffington Post: '"Wearing" a room connects a guest with a designer, allowing a deeper look into how luxury weaves palettes of color into experiential stays.'
