Kendrick Lamar Releases “i”
After a noticeable hiatus from releasing any solo material, Kendrick Lamar returned with a new single this past week. “i” features a prominent Isley Brothers sample and Lamar’s resounding positivity throughout, the hook bringing an “I love myself” refrain. “Finna run into a building, lay my body in the street / Keep my money in the ceiling, let my Mama know I’m free / Give my story to the children and the lesson they can read / And the glory to the feeling of the holy unseen,” he raps at the end of the song.
Promoting the record in an interview with Power 106’s Jeff G, Lamar explained his intentions with the song.
“I want to retract the word ‘single,’” he said. "I want to call things that I release ‘statements’ because this music is something that the world has to hear and it’s not only for me, but it’s for the stress. It’s for our livelihoods. When I want to come back on my release, I want to make sure I do just that and continue that.”
Game Enlists Yo Gotti, 2 Chainz, Soulja Boy, & T.I.
Game is scheduled to release his Blood Money Records Year Of The Wolf compilation album on October 14. The rapper let fans design the album’s cover, an image of his daughter with an illustration of a wolf, and went on to release his “Really” single earlier this week. “Really” is the third early offering from the record and the second with prominent features in tow. The Mekanics and OZ produced track features Yo Gotti, 2 Chainz, Soulja Boy, and T.I.
In quintessential Game fashion, his verse on “Really” is packed full of name-flips: “I’ll slaughter your house with five 9’s / Leave all of you niggas with crooked eyes / Got the Louisville Slugger, Big Papi Ortiz / Knockin’ every button off your buttoned up sleeves," he raps.
Year Of The Wolf will also feature appearances from French Montana, Jeezy, and Bobby Shmurda as well as production from the likes of Boi 1da, DJ Mustard, and Amadeus.
Amber Rose & Wiz Khalifa Divorce
Less than a year-and-a-half removed from their wedding in July of last year, Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa divorced this week. Rose filed for divorce from the rapper, who recently earned his first #1 debut with Blacc Hollywood, citing irreconcilable difference. Rose later levied blame on Khalifa via Twitter, claiming that he was unfaithful during their marriage.
Khalifa will reportedly petition for visitation rights with son Sebastian, who was born in February of 2013. Rose will reportedly receive $1 million from the divorce settlement as per their prenuptial agreement. The same document requires that Khalifa pay more than $5,000 a month in spousal support to Amber Rose.

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — A man in an Alabama jail who has confessed to killing dozens across the country did not name the drug cartels he said employed him.
Tim McWhorter, a captain and chief investigator with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office in Alabama, says 51-year-old Jose Manuel Martinez told authorities
that he would never divulge the names or cartel affiliations of his criminal associates. Martinez told investigators he was not necessarily a hit man but was
hired to collect debts.
Lawrence County deputies arrested Martinez in connection with a 2013 shooting death.
McWhorter said that Martinez, who has pleaded not guilty in the case, confessed to that killing and many others.
Martinez has also been charged with nine murders in California and is wanted on suspicion of committing two 2006 murders in Florida.

The first study was conducted by researchers from the US, UK and Europe. The team analyzed data from observational studies and clinical trials that looked at health outcomes linked to vitamin D levels.
The data included trials that looked at vitamin D levels as a result of both naturally occurring vitamin D and supplements.
Although the researchers identified 137 different health outcomes associated with vitamin D levels, they found that only 10 of these outcomes had been comprehensively tested in trials, and only one outcome - that an infant's birth weight is linked to a mother's vitamin D levels in late pregnancy - had enough evidence to deem it a "benefit."
Researchers say that contrary to previous research, there is no evidence that vitamin D supplements help prevent osteoporosis.
In an editorial linked to the studies, Naveed Sattar and Paul Welsh of the British Heart Foundation Research Centre in the UK say this pattern of findings "should ring alarm bells."
They note that other studies have shown that supplements of other vitamins, such as C and E, may have potentially harmful effects on health outcomes when intake is increased.
"This highlights the often underestimated problems of confounding and reverse causality that can lead to premature causal inferences in observational studies," they add.
In addition, the research team found no evidence that vitamin D supplementation had any benefits for osteoporosis or helped prevent falls - a finding that contradicts previous research. “At least it gives us hope that our loved ones are still safe. We really hope that the various governments will help to look for the plane,” she said.
While the theory that the plane landed somewhere and has remained hidden is seen as highly improbable by experts, most do not discount it as impossible.
Malaysian Subramaniam Gurusamy, 60, whose 34-year-old son Puspanathan Gurusamy was on board, refused to believe the worst.
“I am praying every day for divine help. I will not lose hope. I want to hear my son cry out ‘Father!’” he said.
Selamat Umar, 60, also from Malaysia, placed his faith in his 29-year-old son Khairul Amrison’s ability to survive whatever he confronted.
He said the new evidence was “a good sign which shows the plane can be detected and the passengers are safe – if not all, then some.”
“It may be a hijack, but why have there been no demands?” he said.
Although so many questions remain, he is clinging to the belief that his son may one day come home.
“We are definitely worried about his safety but confident that those on the plane will do what they can to survive,” said Selamat.
“My son is a Muslim who fasts every Ramadan, so I am sure he has strength.”

New revelations about a missing Malaysia Airlines plane have left anguished relatives contemplating the prospect that those on board endured a terrifying
high-altitude hijack ordeal that may have lasted nearly eight hours.
But while the disclosures led to increased speculation of a terror plot or pilot suicide, for some they offered a glimmer of hope – that flight MH370,
carrying 239 passengers and crew, may somehow have landed safely and that their loved ones may still be alive.
For relatives of Bob and Cathy Lawton, a missing Australian couple, the possibility of a terrifying drawn-out fate at thousands of feet reflected their
deepest fears.
“That’s one of the worst things I could have hoped for,” Bob’s brother David Lawton told News Limited newspapers.
“Even if they are alive, what did they have to put up with?”
Prime Minister Najib Razak declined to use the word hijack when he briefed the press Saturday, but said new data suggested a “deliberate action” to divert
the plane.
The Boeing 777’s communications appear to have been switched off manually before the jet veered westward and flew for hours. What happened during that time
remains a mystery. But one report of the plane fluctuating from low to high altitude fuelled fears the passengers may have been well aware they were in
terrible danger.
The New York Times said the jet had reached 45,000 feet – above its approved altitude limit – before it “descended unevenly to 23,000 feet.” It cited
Malaysian military radar signals, but the data have not been confirmed by the authorities.
